Christmas Colouring that isn’t too Christmassy

I really want to do some Christmas Colouring that isn’t too Christmassy if you know what I mean.

I don’t want entire books full of santas, snowmen, trees, baubles and christmas presents.

Personally I am only going to colour in a few images and then Christmas will be over and it’ll be a waste of a book.

So I jumped at the chance to review Winter Dream 20 Postcards by Hanna Karlzon.

15181398_10154512566490412_7520622744631116109_n

This cute book is nice and small and easy to fit in your pocket or handbag for colouring whilst you are away from home and the images are detailed but not too intricate.

The cardstock is very thick and much better quality than any other postcards I’ve seen. It’s a cream colour card with a very good tooth to it similar to her books but much much thicker.

The 20 postcards are gluebound to the book but pull out very easy and have lines for the address and stamp and clear space for a written message. They are standard postcard size.

I’ve coloured 1 images so far of a gingerbread house using sparkly gel pens and copic glitter pens the entire image took me just 30 minutes to complete and i’m very happy with the results.

christmas colouring

These images are Christmassy but not too over the top and i’d be happy to continue colouring these even after the festive season is over.

Here are a couple images of the other postcards from the book.

winter dreams christmas colouring

If you have friends or relatives to write to over the festive period these would be just great and I think they’d also make super cute stocking fillers as coloured in postcards or perhaps a gift to someone of the whole book of 20 postcards.

I for one would be happy to receive this as a gift.

I just love this little book and the images are super cute and quick to colour, the card is great quality. Just perfect for some christmas colouring on the go.

One Colour at a Time Blog scores this book a fantastic 10 out of 10!

Mystery Boxes and Subscription Boxes – Love OR Hate?

Mystery Boxes and Subscription Boxes – you know the things I mean. From gaming and gifts, to beauty and even arts and crafts and collectibles. There are Mystery Boxes and Subscription Boxes available for pretty much everything – even your Pet!

I am an xbox gamer, minecraft lover, general nerd and more so these kind of things really appeal to me.

I have previously subscribed to Lootcrate for example which if you love collectibles/comics/nerdy things then you will love but the price tag got a bit too much for me and I had to stop my subscription.

Previously I was inspired to treat myself to a Fallout 4 Gamers Mystery Box which cost £60 but never materialised and eventually I had to reclaim through my bank – so you do need to be careful with who you buy from.

For this blog I have even reviewed some:

I have decided in the new year to test out as many of these different Mystery Boxes and Subscription Boxes as I can. I will be doing unboxing videos as well as in depth reviews and if I think the boxes are worth the money they cost.

There will be a new page up for this on my blogs menu in the new year so look out for that.

I will be doing one review before Christmas as I have stumbled across it and thought i’d let you all know about it as well.

It’s a Groupon Offer called ‘Santa’s Mystery Sack’ and basically you pay either £7.99 or £16.99 for a Mystery Pick of Gifts from a big long list with the chance to win one of their top prizes which include Gold Macbook, iPhone 7, LV/Prada Bag or Apple Watch.

capture

For the lower price you have a 1 in 40 chance of something quite nice and for the higher price a 1 in 20 chance.

For the general Mystery Pick most people will be getting 3-4 items which will include brands I have never heard of and items such as Bluetooth Speakers, Chargers/Cables, Cases and Covers, Headphones and Activity/Fitness Tracker Wrist Bands – so as long as you are going to be happy receiving those kind of items with the chance of winning something better then it’s worth a punt.

BUT what are these lowest value item / most common to be received items worth? Are they worth the £7.99 / £16.99 plus shipping?

Lets take a look

From the £7.99 list taking the very bottom selection of items which is most likely the most low value and commonly received and basing the cost on what you could buy the items for from amazon

  • JVC FX10 Earphones (£7)+ Cosmetic Blending Sponges (£1.40 going on cheapest as brand/amount unknown)  + Kitvision Selfie Stick (£5.99) so a total of £14.39 to purchase these items of Amazon.

From the £16.99 list taking the very bottom selection of items which is most likely the most low value and commonly received and basing the cost on what you could buy the items for from amazon

  • Jawbone Up Move Activity Tracker (£9.53) + JVC FX10 Earphones (£7) + Cosmetic Blending Sponges (£1.40 – going on cheapest as brand/amount unknown) + Kitvision Selfie Stick (£5.99) so a total of £23.92 to purchase these items from Amazon.

Well I think that even if I don’t win one of the better item this is worth it as you will still be getting that are worth more than the purchase price for the group offer.

I have purchased 2 of the £16.99 one for myself and one as a birthday present for my sister.

Fingers crossed we get something neat and I will post up an unboxing video and review score once I receive them!

The deal if you are interested can here found here

I’d love to know if you buy some of these as well and of course what you end up receiving!

Make sure to check out my blogs current giveaway being run with Mia Harper where you could win 5 books from Mia Harpers ’For My..’ range and 3 packs of Djeco Marker Pens.

Lisa is already getting to grips with adult colouring books and products and regularly borrows my pens and books when she visits.

If you have enjoyed these Advent Giveaways and love the idea of winning things then please do check out my website.

aae4ec59e3dc201db34e38bccbbb7b66

Lesser Spotted Comper is free to access and lists Pinterest, Instagram, Low Entry and Local Competitions. It’s aim is to take the hobby of Comping (entering competitions) back to being a fun and enjoyable hobby which only takes up a small amount of your time.

Too often Compers end up entering more and more and spending so much time on it that it takes over everything and can often feel like a job.

By selecting just the types of competitions which get the fewest entries I hope you’ll be winning in no time!

THE PRIZE:

Todays prize is a Year Subscription to the PM ME service I run.

The PM ME Service gives access to a specialist list of competitions which has very very few entries (100 or less entries) as well as any flash competitions, pop up competitions and twitter parties that I spot.

These are the real gems of the comping world as most competitions often get thousands of entries and even higher!

As well as access to this list you will also receive private messages on either facebook or twitter (your choice) when I spot a twitter party, flash competition or pop up competition which is ending in the next few hours.

To help keep entries into these select competitions as low as possible I have even put a maximum cap on the number of people I will allow as PM ME Members to 200.

Due to the time I invest in this specialist and unique service I normally charge £2 per month

THE GIVEAWAY:

Todays giveaway is only open to UK residents and will be open to entries on the 23rd Dec 2016 from 00.00 til 23.59
